My Sunday Reset Routine: The Little Things That Help Me Start the Week Right

I’m definitely someone who feels better when my week starts off organized. If I spend my entire Sunday doing absolutely nothing, Monday usually hits me like a truck. So over the last few years, I’ve created a simple Sunday reset routine that helps me feel a little more prepared without spending the whole day cleaning.

It isn’t about having the perfect Pinterest house or checking off a million things on a to-do list. It’s just about doing a few small things that make my week feel less chaotic.

The first thing I always do is make the bed. It sounds so simple, but it instantly makes the bedroom feel cleaner. Even if nothing else gets done that day, at least I have one room that feels put together.

Next, I’ll throw in a load of laundry. I don’t try to wash every single thing I own on Sundays, but getting a head start means I’m not digging through the closet on Wednesday wondering where all my favorite clothes went.

After that, I’ll usually spend a little time in the kitchen. I’ll wipe down the counters, clean out the fridge if it needs it, and make sure I have a few easy meals planned for the week. I don’t meal prep like some people do, but I like knowing I have something simple to make when life gets busy.

One of my favorite parts of Sunday is taking a little extra time with my skincare. During the week, I’m usually rushing through my routine before work or bed, but Sundays are different. I’ll put on a face mask, use a hydrating serum, and actually enjoy the process instead of treating it like another task to check off.

I also like to paint my nails if they need it. Fresh nails always make me feel more put together, even if I’m just sitting at my desk most of the week.

Of course, no Sunday reset is complete without lighting a candle. There’s just something about a clean house, a favorite candle, and a cup of coffee or tea that instantly makes everything feel calmer.

Before the evening ends, I’ll take a few minutes to look at my calendar. I check appointments, birthdays, and anything important coming up that week. It helps me avoid those “I completely forgot!” moments that seem to happen at the worst possible time.

I’ve learned that getting ready for the week doesn’t have to be complicated. You don’t need to spend eight hours cleaning your house or buying expensive organizing products. Sometimes it’s the little habits that make the biggest difference.

For me, a Sunday reset is less about having everything perfect and more about giving myself a fresh start. It helps me walk into Monday feeling calmer, more organized, and ready for whatever the week brings.

I’d love to know what your Sunday reset looks like. Is there one thing you always do before a new week begins? Let me know—I might even add it to my own routine!
