If you’re looking for an honest Typology review, I’ve been using the French skincare brand for about two years—and I’m still buying several of its products on repeat.

It all started when I was looking for something to replace the heavier foundations I had been wearing. I wanted coverage, but not foundation coverage.

You know what I mean?

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that I don’t necessarily want or need a full face of foundation every single day. More often than not, I find myself reaching for tinted moisturizers and lightweight products that even out my skin without making me feel like I’m wearing a ton of makeup.

That’s when Typology started stalking me.

Okay, maybe not literally.

But suddenly this French skincare brand was everywhere on my TikTok and Instagram feeds.

French skincare. Tinted serum. Skincare-meets-makeup. Beautiful skin.

Over and over and over again.

Naturally, I was intrigued.

But I wasn’t completely sold.

Do I Really Need Less Coverage as I Get Older?

Part of me still had this idea that getting older meant I needed more coverage.

More foundation. More concealer. More products to hide all the things that weren’t there when I was 25.

Except…I don’t actually enjoy wearing that much makeup every day.

So eventually I decided to give Typology a try.

And because I apparently have absolutely no ability to dip a toe into anything, I decided I might as well order enough to qualify for free shipping.

Go big or go home.

I ordered the Tinted Serum, Tinted Concealer and Glow Drops.

I figured I’d test everything and see what I thought.

Two years later?

I’m still buying them.

On repeat.

The Typology Tinted Serum Changed My Everyday Makeup

Let’s start with the product that brought me to Typology in the first place: the tinted serum.

This is not a traditional foundation, and I think that’s exactly why I love it so much.

It’s incredibly lightweight. It blends beautifully into my skin and leaves everything feeling soft and comfortable instead of coated in makeup.

My skin still looks like my skin.

Just better.

That’s what I was trying to find all along.

I don’t need full coverage to run errands, go to work or live my normal everyday life. I want enough coverage to even things out and make me feel put together without feeling like I’m wearing a full face of foundation.

For me, this does exactly that.

There’s really only one thing I wish Typology would change:

Give me SPF!

The tinted serum doesn’t replace my sunscreen, so I have to apply a separate SPF underneath.

Would I prefer one less step in the morning?

Absolutely.

Is it enough to make me stop buying the serum?

Not even close.

I just apply my sunscreen separately and carry on because I like the serum that much.

The Concealer Was the Biggest Surprise

The tinted serum may have been the reason I placed my first order, but the concealer turned out to be one of my absolute must-haves.

It contains caffeine, which initially wasn’t something I particularly cared about.

Caffeine in my coffee? Essential.

Caffeine in my concealer?

I wasn’t convinced.

Then I used it.

The difference it makes when my eyes look tired or puffy is incredible. It helps everything look brighter and less swollen without feeling like I’m piling heavy concealer underneath my eyes.

And because apparently it likes to overachieve, I also use it on the occasional breakout.

This has become one of those products I don’t want to be without.

Let’s Talk About Those Glow Drops

The first time you put the Typology Glow Drops on your face, there may be a brief moment when you think:

Oh no. I’ve made a terrible mistake.

Because initially?

Disco ball.

But then you blend them in.

And somehow that crazy-looking shine melts into your skin and becomes the prettiest, most natural glow.

I LOVE these.

And I’m not talking about strategically placing a tiny dot on each cheekbone.

I’ve used them all over my face.

Once they’re blended, I don’t look glittery or overly shiny. My skin just looks healthy, glowy and alive.

There’s a big difference between glowing and looking like you covered your face in highlighter.

These give me the former.

I’ve Tried More Than Just the Makeup

After having such good luck with those first three products, I naturally started experimenting with more of the Typology line.

I’ve tried several of their skincare products as well, including their masks, and I’ve continued to be impressed.

What I like most about the brand is that it doesn’t feel quite like anything else I’ve used.

There’s a simplicity to the products that I really appreciate, especially at this point in my life. I don’t necessarily want ten layers of makeup sitting on top of my skin every day.

I’d rather use products that make my actual skin look good.

And that’s where Typology has really won me over.

Is Typology Worth It?

For me?

Absolutely.

I originally discovered Typology because social media wouldn’t stop showing it to me. I reluctantly decided to see what all the fuss was about, ordered three products to get free shipping and hoped at least one of them would be worth the money.

Instead, I found products I’ve continued buying for roughly two years.

If you’re someone who loves full-coverage makeup every day, the tinted serum may not give you what you’re looking for.

But if you’re like me and want something lightweight that evens out your skin while still allowing your actual skin to show through, this is absolutely worth trying.

My three favorites are still the same products from that very first order:

The Tinted Serum for everyday coverage.

The Tinted Concealer for tired eyes, puffiness and the occasional breakout.

The Glow Drops for that beautiful I’ve had eight hours of sleep and drink plenty of water glow—even when neither of those things is necessarily true.

And yes, I still wish the tinted serum had SPF.

But considering I’ve been buying it on repeat for two years?

Clearly, I’ve decided I can live with that.

TikTok made me buy it. For once, TikTok was right.
